Late August, Early September

A group of Parisians is thrown into mid-life crisis when they learn that their friend, an under-appreciated author, has been diagnosed with a terminal illness. His editor and close friend -- played by Mathieu Amalric -- begins to reevaluate his own life and successes, and soon finds himself unable to choose between his long-term girlfriend and his impulsive younger lover. But aimlessness no longer seems like an option, as he is forced to face his own mortality alongside a sudden loss in this character-driven drama.
