Crystal Fairy & the Magical Cactus

This slow-paced road trip through Chile follows a disparate group of young people on their journey to take the form of mescaline known as San Pedro cactus. Jamie (Michael Cera) is a self-absorbed, arrogant gringo who goes to Chile to work on his "phenomenology stuff." Together with three Chilean friends, he plans to go to a beach and take the drug. They are soon joined by a free-spirited American hippie, Crystal Fairy (Gaby Hoffmann), whom Jamie met at a party. The trip, both physical and hallucinogenic, explores the characters' differences and respective development as they grow closer throughout the adventure.
